SECOND TEXT begins with groups of Ukrainian-language books placed into circulation through networks serving Ukrainian soldiers and veterans. Each book carries a modified circulation card on which readers and handlers may record a call sign and date. Over several months, the books pass from person to person before returning to the artist. The altered books, cards, annotations, and other materials accumulated during their journeys become the source material for a new artist’s book and installation.

Twelve Ukrainian-language books selected for the first circulation of SECOND TEXT, beginning in October 2026. Each title will travel through the project before returning to become part of the resulting archive and artist’s book.
