The book MARIA is one platfom of Project MARIA memorializing the millions of victims of the 1932-33 famine in Soviet Ukraine - Holodomor - an event widely thought to be genocidal. At its center is a single vernacular image of a young girl who survived and resides in Canada.

MARIA: shortlisted for the PRIX DU LIVRE 2019 Rencontres d’Arles, receives the GRAND PRIX Award at Ukraine’s 2019 International Book Arsenal Festival, Top Award in the “experimental” book category, Shortlisted at the Athens Photo Festival 2019.

MARIA will be exhibited as part of the World's Most Beautiful Book Collection, at the Leipzig and Frankfurt Book fairs and will take part in the Buchkunst Foundation competition in the Fall, 2019.
